With only three events remaining, Marist Brothers High School is just need to clinch one of these events to be crowned winners in the boys division at the Suva Zone 2 meet.

Marist leads the Fijivillage medal tally with 17 gold, 18 silver and 9 bronze while Suva Grammar school is second with 15 gold, 9 silver and 10 bronze and could clinch the title if they win the three remaining events which are the 4 x 100 meter relay finals in the junior, inter and senior division.

In the girls Suva Grammar School has retained the title after with 15 gold, 7 silver and 5 silver while Lomary Secondary school is second with 3 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze and LDS is third with 2 gold, 1 silver and one bronze.

Meanwhile, Marist Brothers High School sprinter Iowane Dovumatua has broken the 19-year-old record in the senior boy’s 100 meters final this afternoon at the Suva Zone Two athletics meet.

Dovumatua won gold in the blue ribbon event with a time of 10.2 seconds. The Old record was set in 1989 with a time of 10.7 seconds by Samu Loeti of Marist Brothers.
