Marist Brothers out to end 6 year drought
Sports Head of Department, Asish Prasad said that all of the head coaches in their respective fields can get help from outside to improve on their athletes.
Sprint King, Banuve Tabakaucoro who recorded a time of 10.5 seconds in the heats is already keeping an eye on defending Coke Games boys division champions, Suva Grammar School.
Coaches like Bola Tafou, Henry Elder and Jone Kalouniviti are working with the Marist team at the moment.
Meanwhile the race for the top spot in the Marist Brothers High School inter-house is a close one at the TFL Stadium.
Marist inter-house uses the points system to encourage more student participation which often identifies athletes with hidden talents.
From this morning, Lambert currently leads with 4731 points, followed by defending champion Alphonsus on 4635 points, Augustine is on 4236 points while Claudius is on 4217 points.
The highlight of the day so far is in the Junior grade javelin where a 37 year old Marist inter-house record of 43.66m was broken by Angus Quentin with a throw of 45.15m.
The competition continues with the finals coming up in the afternoon.
