The same set up adopted by the 2005 winning Melrose Cup coaching staff is likely to be use again next year to defend the title in Dubai.

In that year former coach Wayne Pivac used the Marist 7's to finalise his squad with two weeks to go for the tournament and it could be the same again next year after the organisers of the biggest 7's tournament in world have decided to shift their tournament to the 20th and 21st of February.

This will take place a week after the San Diego 7's giving Waisale Serevi and technical adviser Joji Rinakama ample time to prepare his side although under the IRB regulation overseas based players can only be release with a week to go for the tournament.

Fijivillage Sports have received confirmation that Fiji Rugby Union is already talking to the respective clubs of the likes of Apolosi Satala, Filimoni Delasau, Rupeni Caucau, Semisi Naevo, Timoci Nagusa, Jone Daunivucu, William Ryder and Sireli Bobo to be released earlier to train with the Fiji 7's team.

The Melrose Cup will be held in Dubai at the Sevens Stadium from the 5th to the 7th of March.
