Weightlifter, Maria Mareta took out silver in the 58kg weight category at the Commonwealth Youth Games in Samoa today.
Maria managed a lift of 70kg in the Clean and Jerk and 57kg in the Snatch with a total of 127kg lift.
In swimming, Epeli Rabua has qualified for the B final of the 100m breaststroke.
Rabua has also set a new national men's record in a time of 1.07.52s beating the previous time of 1.08.08s.
Adi Kinisimere Naivalu has also qualified for the B Final of the 50m Backstroke event.
The finals will take place tonight.
Meanwhile, the Vodafone Fiji Under 18 rugby team will take on Australia, Samoa and Cayman Islands in the pool matches.
South Africa, England, Namibia and Singapore will battle it out in Pool B.
Fiji’s first match will be against Cayman Islands at 5.12pm tomorrow.
The Ben Ryan coached side will face Samoa at 12.12pm Thursday and Australia in its final pool match at 3.10pm.
The medal semi-finals will start at 5.42pm on Thursday while the gold medal final will be played at 11.20am on Friday.
Baiogo Larua and Timoci Tavatavawaiwai of QVS, Aisea Cagidaveta of RKS, Carl Lagonibau of Natabua High School and Temo Sukayawa and Pita Tumura of Suva Grammar School are some of the players in the Fiji side.
