Floyd Mayweather says he is a calculated, sharp and smart boxer while Manny Pacquiao is a reckless boxer.
While speaking to ESPN, Mayweather evaded a number of questions when asked on Pacquiao’s strengths, saying he does not know much about his opponent.
Pacquiao and Mayweather “officially” arrived in Las Vegas for the world welterweight unification title showdown on Sunday at the MGM Grand.
The two superstar boxers’ arrivals were as different as their personalties themselves.
Pacquiao had rolled into Las Vegas yesterday in a special bus as he and his entourage drove from Los Angeles.
Instead of going to the MGM, Pacquiao disembarked at Mandalay Bay, his preferred home when he fights in Las Vegas.
There, hundreds of his fans had congregated to get a glimpse of the two‑term Filipino congressman who has won world titles in eight different weight classes.
The original plan was for Pacquiao to actually be the first to arrive at the Grand Garden.
Last Thursday, his promoter, Bob Arum, said that would not be the case and Pacquiao would not attend the “grand arrival” which traditionally kicks off a big fight week in Las Vegas.
Mayweather showed up at the Grand Garden with all the trappings of a Hollywood premiere.
The red carpet was rolled out, and the man considered to be boxing’s pound‑for‑pound king emerged from one of the fleet of his fancy cars.
The initial projection of a 60/40 purse split from the fight would see 180 million US dollars going to Mayweather and 120 million US dollars going to Pacquiao.
Mayweather will fight Pacquiao at about 3pm Sunday, and you can watch it live on Sky Pacific’s Pay Per View channel for $40 for residential customers and $300 for commercial customers.
