Manly prop Brent Kite will captain the Tongan Rugby League team with NRL experience to the Rugby League World Cup.
Twenty players from the NRL or under 20 competition have been named in the Tonga squad, including Warriors Glen Fisiâ iahi, Siliva Havili and Konrad Hurrell.
The squad also includes three players from the Super League, with Sydney Havea the only Tongan based player in the 24.
Former Kiwis Sika Manu and Fuifui Moimoi will also play for Tonga, while Cowboys back rower Jason Taumalolo has been named after seemingly being overlooked for New Zealand.
Tonga is pooled with Scotland and Italy.
