Management closes school
The Management of Nasavusavu Secondary School has closed the school until further notice.
The Chairman of the School Board and the Manager, Ratu Viliame Ralulu said the school management's grievance to remove the Acting Principal and to have a replacement in the 3rd term has not been addressed by the Education Ministry.
He said the current Acting Principal is not the right person to be in the position and his conduct during the 2nd term has proved it which is why they had requested the Ministry to remove him for the betterment of the students.
Ratu Viliame said they had forwarded their grievance in writing to the Education Ministry on the 23rd of July and again on the 29th of August however he said the Ministry has not seen fit to address the issue seriously which is why they have decided not to open the school.
He has asked the parents to keep their children home until further notice.
Meanwhile, the Education Ministry is waiting for a report from its officers in Savusavu before commenting on the matter.
