Management Bars Rishikul Principal
Nair said in the management meeting last night, all their members stood firm on this decision.
He added that Interim Education Minister Filipe Bole should resolve this issue.
Meanwhile, the decision to remove a principal from school only lies with the Education Ministry and not the management.
The General Secretary of the Fiji Teachers Union Agni Deo Singh said the school management should not interfere in the matter.
Singh while speaking on a talkback show on our sister station Radio Sargam yesterday, said that Rishikul College is academically doing a good job and when the Education Ministry appoints a principal or headteacher, then no one else has the legal right to remove the principal or stop him from doing his work.
Singh said it is an offence and police should remove the people who are creating problems. He said if management or other people have any problems against the head of the school, then they should report it to the Education Ministry as these problems have an adverse effect on the students.
