A 31-year-old man has been charged with raping the 9-year-old girl in Nakasi and will appear in the Nasinu Magistrates Court this morning.
Police Chief of Intelligence and Investigations, ACP Henry Brown says the man is charged with one count of rape, one count of assault with intent to rape and two counts of burglary and theft.
ACP Brown says the 31-year-old also broke into a house in Nakasi.
ACP Brown says they also acknowledge the courage shown by the 9-year-old girl after this unfortunate incident.
He also says many members of the public also came out to help the police in locating the 31-year-old man.
