A 49 year old man is still missing in the Lomaiviti waters and the search had to be called off last night due to the weather conditions.
Fijivillage was informed that at about 9 o’clock last night a fiberglass boat left Moturiki for Levuka with six people on board when it capsized at Gavo passage due to heavy swells.
Police say five of the passengers managed to swim safely to shore while the 49 year old education counsellor remains missing.
According to the police report, the five people were wearing life jackets.
The search will continue later this morning.
