A 21 year old villager of Kadavu is in police custody after he allegedly stabbed his 86 yr old chief over the weekend.

Assistant Police Spokesperson Corporal Josaia Weicavu has confirmed that the suspect has been charged with Act with Intent to cause grievous bodily harm and is in custody.

Arrangements are now being made to bring the suspect to Suva where he will appear in court.

According to police the tension is really high in the village.

The chief is now admitted at the Vunisea Hospital.

Meanwhile, a 27 year old taxi driver of Nasilivata Road, Nadera is admitted at the CWM hospital after he was struck by his wife with a knife following a dispute on Saturday.

The couple had an argument where it is alleged that the victim hit his de-facto wife with a bottle and then the wife struck his left arm with a chopper in retaliation.
