Man stabbed to death
Assistant Police PRO Corporal Josaia Weicavu said after an argument, the husband is alleged to have hit his wife with a bottle after which the wife allegedly struck his left arm with a chopper in retaliation. Police are awaiting the man's medical report before laying any charges.
Meanwhile, the 21 year old villager of Kadavu alleged to have stabbed his 86 year old chief over the weekend will be brought to Suva this week to appear in court. He is currently in police custody.
Corporal Weicavu has confirmed that suspect has been charged with Act with Intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
According to police tension is high in the village and police are keeping a close watch on the village. The chief is now admitted at the Vunisea Hospital.
Also, a 25 year old Nasinu man died after he was stabbed during a drinking party over the weekend.
Officer-In-Charge Valelevu Police Station, ASP Manoj Singh has confirmed that the 27 year old suspect, who is from Khalsa Road is in custody and is still being questioned.
The incident occurred in Tacirua Heights where the suspect was assaulted during a heated argument. The suspect then retaliated, allegedly stabbing the deceased with a kitchen knife.
The victim received multiple injuries on his head, chest and other parts of his body. He was rushed to the CWM hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
