High Court Judge, Justice Prinyantha Fernando while sentencing Niraj Singh this afternoon, reminded him that his actions gave the impression that the public needed to bribe public officers in order for them to have their grievances heard.
On the 22nd of September last year, Singh told a lady that if she wanted her case to be heard faster or earlier, she had to pay him $100 in addition to the Court fees that she had already paid.
Singh was arrested by FICAC three days later when he had a meeting with the complainant to take the money from her.
