Labasa Police have questioned a man from abroad in relation to the death of a 51 year old man in a house fire earlier this week.

The man was questioned till late yesterday evening and released.

Police are expected to start questioning more people from this morning.

The Divisional Fire Officer Northern John Pillay confirmed yesterday the deceased was staying in a settlement outside Labasa.

He said the National Fire Authority was not informed or called to put out the fire which occurred on Monday.

Pillay said the initial report indicates that 10 people were living in the house.

However, they are receiving contradictory statements from the family members. Investigations continue.
