The Lautoka High Court yesterday sentenced a 33 year old man to six months imprisonment who pleaded guilty to the charges of manslaughter.
The court heard that on 12th January earlier this year, Saladoka Saumaibulu was drinking with his friends when an argument developed between Saumaibulu and the deceased.
The deceased punched Saumaibulu, who then retaliated and punched the victim who fell on a pavement and hit his head. The victim passed away in hospital after three days.
Judge Justice Priyantha Nawana sentenced Saumaibulu to six months imprisonment after considering the 8 months that he has spent in remand.
