Suva Magistrate Elsie Hudson today sentenced a 48 year old man charged with act with intent to cause grievous bodily harm to 18 months imprisonment suspended for three years.

Last week Friday Anare Senibiyau was walking towards his home at Waiqasa Lami when he saw the complainant drinking with his friends and making noise. Senibiyau asked the complainant not to make noise because he did not like what he was saying.

The complainant then punched Senibiyau after which he went home and came back later with an umbrella and started hitting the complainant with it and in the process injured his eye.

Senibiyau pleaded guilty to the charges and seeked forgiveness and that he was the sole bread winner for his family.
