A 29-year-old man is in police custody after he allegedly raped his 7 month old daughter.
Police spokesperson Inspector Josaia Weicavu says the alleged incident which has been happening since October last year at a village in the interior of Nadi, came to light after the man was confronted by his wife.
Weicavu says the alleged incident started when the girl was 2 months old.
The man is expected to be charged with two counts of rape later today.
The baby is being kept with the Social Welfare Department while the 29-year-old man remains in police custody for further investigations.
