Police have taken a 25 year old man into custody for allegedly hacking his neighbour with a cane knife on Friday afternoon in Qelewaqa Labasa.
The victim sustained serious leg injuries and has been admitted in the Labasa hospital.
It is believed the two had some personal problems.
Police say a fight started between the two neighbours regarding an issue when one of them allegedly picked up a knife and hacked the leg of the other.
Meanwhile, Police are also investigating a case of break-in at the Vunimoli Secondary school on Friday night.
The thieves managed to steal cash and some items from the school canteen and classrooms.
