A 25 year old man is in police custody for allegedly defiling a 15 year old student yesterday.
The alleged incident took place in a motel in Suva.
The matter was reported to police by the victims mother.
The man was arrested yesterday afternoon and remains under interrogation.
In another incident a 22 year old man of Naitasiri is also under police investigation for allegedly defiling a 16 year old student late last month.
Assistant Police spokesperson, Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri said that minors are protected under the new crimes decree and anyone found committing offences will be dealt with severely.
