Nausori Police have taken a 43 year old man into custody from Navuso for allegedly assaulting his 7 year old daughter.
Divisional Crime Officer Eastern, ASP Keshri Lal confirms the alleged incident took place on Friday and it is alleged the father first used a stick and then a dog chain to beat his daughter.
Lal said the girl has sustained several injuries due to the beating. The matter was reported to Police by the mother and the father was arrested yesterday.
He is expected to be charged later today.
