A 40yr old man of Reservoir Rd is in police custody for allegedly killing his 32yr old de-facto wife yesterday afternoon.

The alleged incident took place yesterday afternoon after an argument at the couple’s home at around 3pm.

The man allegedly got hold of a cane knife and allegedly struck her several times.

A post mortem conducted last night revealed that she died of excessive blood loss due to multiple stab wounds.

Officers from the Samabula Police station will interview the man this morning and charges are expected to be laid by this afternoon.

Meanwhile, a seven year old boy who was involved in an accident at Ratu Mara Road lost his life at the Suva Hospital.

Tevita said the boy passed away on Tuesday night.

Tevita said the boy was a passenger in a taxi which collided with a bus at Ratu Mara road on Saturday.

The bus driver has been questioned and released while the taxi driver is still admitted at the hospital Police are expected to take his statement once he recovers.

Investigation continues.
