Police have taken a 35 year old farmer of Lakeba into custody for allegedly raping a 17 year old girl in August this year.
The alleged incident took place during a funeral gathering.
The farmer was taken into custody on Friday and faces one count of rape charge.
The matter was reported to Police by girls relatives after the girl tested positive of being four months pregnant.
The farmer will appear in the Labasa Magistrate court tomorrow.
