A 30 year old woman is in police custody for allegedly assaulting her husband with a piece of steel at their Savusavu home yesterday.
The alleged incident took place when the man who is in his 30's returned home after a grog session early yesterday morning.
An argument developed between the two and in the process the husband allegedly slapped the woman.
It is then alleged that the woman got hold of a piece of steel and allegedly struck it on the man’s head.
He sustained serious injuries and is admitted at the Savusavu hospital.
The woman is expected to be charged soon.
