A 28 year old Navala villager of Ba is fighting for his life at the Lautoka hospital after he was allegedly hacked by a 59 year old fellow villager yesterday.
The victim sustained serious injuries in the attack and was transferred to the Lautoka hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
The alleged incident took place after a dispute.
It is alleged that the suspect got hold of a cane knife and allegedly hacked him.
He has been charged with one count of act with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and will appear in the Ba Magistrates court this morning.
Police have called on people to resolve differences amicably and not to resort to violence.
