Man dumped in Suva Cemetery
Police confirm that 4 men assaulted and robbed 25 year old taxi driver Shamal Jeet Raj of Caubati.
The suspects hired his taxi from Amy street and upon reaching Brewster street, they threatened the victim at knife point and robbed him off his wallet containing $100.
Shamal's father, Sachin Deo Raj said they are lucky their son is still alive as he relayed how Raj was dumped at the cemetery last night.
Meanwhile, Assistant Police PRO, Inspector, Lavenia Lovodua said they are still trying to locate the taxi registration LT 1447 as the hunt for the suspects continues.
In another incident, police are investigating a case of accident taxi driven by a 55 year old driver of Siberia Labasa, hit a 79 year old women near the Labasa court house yesterday morning.
The victim was walking home from Subrail Park when she was hit by the taxi.
Police have questioned and released the taxi driver.
