A 33 year old man died instantly after the vehicle he was driving went off the road and landed in a creek near Sigatoka Village this morning.
The deceased was driving his company vehicle, a three tonne truck towards Lautoka when he failed to negotiate a bend near Sigatoka Village.
As a result he lost control and the vehicle landed in a creek.
He died instantly, while a 29 year old passenger who was travelling with him is in serious condition at the Sigatoka hospital.
The road death toll now is five compared to four during the same period last year.
