Police are still trying to find out whether the driver of the rental car is one of the four victims that are admitted at the CMW Hospital after an accident between Samabula and Nabua today.

A private car veered off the Ratu Mara Road and tumbled 40m down a cliff around 6.30 this morning.

Police Spokesperson Inspector Josaia Weicavu said they believe the driver of the rental car fled the scene.

A 21‑year‑old man of Cunningham who was involved in the accident died this morning at the CWM Hospital.

Weicavu said the other three passengers are still admitted in a critical condition.

He said they believe the four were drunk.

Investigations continue.

An eyewitness, 60‑year‑old Jemesa Koroi said the accident happened around 6am this morning.

The car veered off the road along Ratu Mara Road and tumbled down a cliff.
