A man who is alleged to have raped his daughter on 19 separate occasions has been denied bail and remanded in custody by the Labasa High Court.

In his submission the accused told the High Court that will not breach his bail condition and denied the allegation claiming that his wife instigated his daughter to make a false complaint against him.

He also told the court that he has does not have any previous convictions and he will live out of his village if granted bail.

The state lawyer objected to bail saying the offence is serious, they have and there are enough evidence and there is a possibility that the accused may not turn up to court and bail should not be granted.

Judge Justice Priyantha Fernando said that the accused is facing a very serious charge and that the victim is the daughter of the accused and that the accused may interfere with the witness.

He also said that the accused may not turn up for his case. He then refused the bail application.
