A man is dead, several others are in hospital and forty-five men are now in police custody after a brawl erupted between villagers of Nasavu and Nailuva in Ra yesterday.
Speaking to Fijivillage this morning, police spokesperson Atunaisa Sokomuri confirmed that the men are still being questioned over the incident.
Sokomuri added some of the villagers who sustained injuries during the brawl have been taken to Rakiraki hospital while police are still at the village conducting investigations and trying to ease the growing tensions between the two villages.
Meanwhile, earlier this week in a similar incident in Nawi, Savusavu, a youth died after a homebrew drinking session turned ugly and a brawl erupted between the men.
