A 28 year old man is in police custody after he was caught by a police officer on patrol, when he came out from a supermarket in Lautoka with two bags of stolen items yesterday.

The man has been charged with Shop Breaking, Entering and Larceny after he broke into the Patel Supermarket at Yasawa Street, Lautoka.

According to the Assistant Police PRO, Corporal Suliano Tevita, the officer saw the man coming out of the Supermarket with an accomplice carrying two bags at around 2am, however they fled after seeing the officer but the 28 year old was later arrested, while his partner is still at large.

All stolen items have been recovered which consisted of Cash, cosmetics, cigarettes, wrist watches, recharge cards and telecards valued at more than $3000. The man will appear in court later this afternoon.
