A 23 year old man charged with the alleged rape of his 14 year old neighbour was released on $1000 cash bail after a special court sitting in the Labasa Magistrates Court yesterday afternoon.
The man is charged with two counts of rape and will now appear in court on next Friday.
The alleged incident happened last Thursday when the man allegedly took the girl to his house and raped her twice.
A security officer who was passing by saw the alleged incident and reported the matter to girls parents who later reported it to Police.
The girl also received some injuries and has been treated at Labasa hospital.
