Man charged over 5yr old’s death
Deputy Director Police Operations SP Erami Raibe told Fijivillage News that Police arrested the 24 year old over the weekend and after interrogation, he was charged with the murder of the five year old girl whose body was found floating in the Beqa waters last month.
Police had earlier confirmed that the post mortem on the girl showed that she was strangled before being thrown into the sea.
The 24 year old will be produced in court tomorrow.
Meanwhile Police investigations continue in relation to the Howell Rd murder where a 34yr old Kindergarden teacher was allegedly strangled to death inside her house.
According to police they are working on some leads and arrests are expected to be made soon.
In another case, no one has been charged in relation to the Toorak murder where a 56yr old woman was also strangled while a number of people have been questioned with no arrests as yet.
Her partly burnt body was found in a cassava patch by a security officer.
