Police have charged a man with twenty counts of obtaining financial advantage by deception and he is expected to appear in Court next week.

Police Spokesperson Inspector Atunaiasa Sokomuri said the accused who is fifty four years old is alleged to have conned members of the public telling that he would secure work visas for them in Australia and New Zealand.

Inspector Sokomuri said that the fifty four year old businessman was the managing director of travel agency and a marriage contractor as well and people were allegedly duped by him.

Police revealed that he is alleged to have received as much as $24,000 from unsuspecting people.

According to Sokomuri, many genuine people are being conned by others and are calling on members of the public to come forward if they believe that they are victims.

The businessman will appear in Court again next Friday.
