Police have charged a 28 year old man for allegedly raping a 19 year old woman in Lautoka on Saturday.
Divisional Crime Officer Western, SP Luke Rawalai confirms the man is charged with one count of rape and assualt. He is expected to appear in court tomorrow.
According to Police, the victim was returning home from a nightclub when the man allegedly confronted her in a park and allegedly raped her.
It is alleged that the victim was also assaulted many times. She sustained serious injuries.
A watchman who heard the victim calling for help, came to her rescue.
