A major manhunt is underway for a man in the Western Division who allegedly impersonated a policeman and raped a 25 year old woman.

The alleged incident took place in Lautoka when the man, dressed in a police uniform entered into a Construction company office and allegedly stole cash, mobile phones and other items including ATM cards belonging to the woman.

The man then told the woman who works for the company that he wanted to check for something in the company yard.

It is alleged that he then took the woman into a freezer truck where he allegedly raped her.

The impersonator then drove away in the freezer truck which is still missing.

Police are calling for more information from the public.

Meanwhile, the 46yr old Primary school teacher facing one count of indecent assault and three counts of defilement charges appeared in the Taveuni Magistrates court today however a plea was not taken.

He has been released on $800 bail and told not to interfere with the witnesses.

The teacher has also been told to surrender his travel documents to the court.

The case has been adjourned to the 7th of next month.

The teacher is alleged to have defiled a class eight student in his vehicle a number of times, as well as at the girl's residence when the parents were away at work.

The alleged incident happened between May and last month.
