A man charged with manslaughter walked out of the Labasa High Court a free man after he was found not guilty of the charges.

Labasa High Court Judge Justice Priyantha Fernando acquitted Filipe Glenville of the charges of manslaughter after the three assessors in the trial unanimously found him not guilty of the offence.

It is alleged that Glenville navigated the boat toward Naivivi village to buy food and when he went pass a resort at Qamea, he felt something caught the engine shaft.

Gleniville moved forward and saw a body floating on the surface of the sea.

The deceased and his wife were guests at Qamea Resort.
