Labasa Magistrate Anare Tuilevuka sentenced a 28 year old man to six months imprisonment suspended for 2 years who pleaded guilty to the charges of unlawful possession of drugs.

Police Prosecutor Dharmendra Kumar told the court that on 10th January earlier this year two police officers on patrol in Labasa market area received information that Thomson Lee had some illicit drugs and a search was conducted where the officers found 12 sachets of dried leaves.

Magistrate Tuilevuka said that considering Lee being a first offender with a young family and that the cannabis was small and for personal use sentenced him to 6 months imprisonment suspended for two years and was also fined $50.
