A 32-year-old man is currently being questioned by Police for the alleged murder of a 38-year-old woman in Colo-I-Suva yesterday.
Sarojni Lata and her husband, who own a bakery in Nakasi, were delivering bread to villagers in Colo-I-Suva when a man appeared from bushes and grabbed the bag containing money.
Lata's husband gave chase and the robber fled into the bushes, however he returned with a big stone and threw it at the delivery van. The stone hit the woman who was sitting inside.
She sustained serious head injuries and was rushed to the Nausori Health Centre and then transferred to the CWM hospital where she later passed away.
A post moterm will be conducted today.
