Police in Labasa are questioning a man alleged to have stabbed his 38-year-old wife to death after a domestic dispute.
It is alleged that the husband stabbed his wife - Meena Wati - with a kitchen knife several times on her head, stomach and other parts of the body and left her body about 200 metres from home, where the stabbing took place on Friday evening.
The man then reported his wife missing to the Labasa Police Station.
Wati's mutilated body was discovered by her 14-year-old son.
A post mortem conducted revealed that Wati died of severe blood loss and stab wounds sustained to the intestine and other parts of the body.
