A 55 year old man died in an early morning blaze in Naitonitoni Navua after he was trapped inside a burning house.
Police Media Liason Officer, Atunaisa Sokomuri confirmed the deceased Sohan Lal was originally from Dalia Navua and was the caretaker of the farm in Naitonitoni.
Sokomuri said the house caught fire around 1am and people living nearby did not know that the man was inside the house when the fire started. The body of the deceased was found inside the house by Police Officers who had gone to investigate the incident.
The National Fire Authority said preliminary investigations suggest that the fire may have started from a kerosene lantern.
The post mortem of the deceased will be carried out tomorrow.
