Navua Police have arrested and charged three Tongan nationals for allegedly hacking a 28-year-old fellow workmate, who is also a Tongan national, with a chainsaw.

Police have confirmed the four works for at a saw mill in Navua and the incident took place after a dispute erupted between them.

It is alleged the three assaulted the 28-year-old and when he became unconscious they then got hold of a chainsaw and tried to start it.

However, the chainsaw did not start and the three then began hitting him with the blade.

He sustained injuries and was rushed to hospital where he is still admitted.

The three will appear in the Suva Magistrates court today.
