A 27 year old unemployed man of Serua who stole two cattle from Nasasa village in 2004 was today sentenced to 12 months imprisonment.

Ilaitia Ravitikula was found guilty of two counts of larceny of cattle before Magistrate Ana Rokomokoti.

Police Prosecutor, Corporal Tito Daurewa said Ravitikula after he stole the cattle, slaughtered it and shared the meat with other villagers.

Magistrate Rokomokoti stressed the importance and value of cattle to a farmer and the work they put in to keep their assets safe and secure, only to have someone walk away with it.
