A man is admitted in Lautoka Hospital after he was found unconscious in a drain near Yalandi Playground in Waiyavi, Lautoka, early yesterday morning.

A police patrol discovered him after directives from a senior officer who received the call through 917.

Police are still trying to establish his identity. The word DUR is tattooed on his chest and KUMAR is tattooed on his left arm.

The man is in the intensive care unit in Lautoka Hospital and police investigations continue.

Meanwhile, Christmas Eve turned into tragedy for a Labasa family after their four year old son drowned while swimming with friends in Nasea Village.

Police said a search was conducted after the boy failed to return with his friends and his body was found floating downstream.

The post mortem is expected to be conducted tomorrow. The drowning toll now stands at 33 compared to 11 for the same period last year.
