A 21-year-old shoeshine boy, who allegedly stabbed his younger brother on Monday evening in Navakai, Nadi, has been charged with acting with intent to cause grievous harm.

Assistant Police PRO Corporal Josaia Weicavu said the victim, upon returning home from work, heard his brother swearing and arguing with his mother. Police said an argument developed between the two and the elder brother is alleged to have stabbed his 20-year-old brother with a pair of scissors.

The victim received a deep wound on his back and his brother is expected to appear in court soon.
