Police have arrested and charged a 23-year-old company driver of Toge Ba for allegedly driving his company car dangerously and causing the death of two people in Malaqereqere, Sigatoka yesterday morning.
Divisional Traffic Officer Western ASP Richard Raju has confirmed that he was charged with two counts of causing death by Dangerous Driving after police received the post mortem report of Ram Reddy and Sashi Kant this morning.
ASP Raju said the driver will appear in the Sigatoka Magistrates court later today.
It is alleged that he tried to overtake a car at a bend in Sigatoka when he collided head on with the car in which Reddy and Kant were travelling in. The two died instantly.
