Police have charged a 27 year old unemployed man of Kubukawa, Tovata for allegedly assaulting a Police Officer at Pritam Singh road early yesterday morning.
Assistant Police Spokesperson, Corporal Josaia Weicavu confirms the officer was attending to a case of car theft when the alleged incident took place.
It is alleged the man punched the Officer when he started questioning him.
The man will appear in Suva Magistrates court tomorrow morning.
