Police have arrested and charged a 21-year-old man for allegedly hijacking a Courier van with $15,000 cash inside.
Assistant Spokesperson Atunaisa Sokomuri said the incident took place over the weekend at Vishnu Deo Rd, Nasinu.
The suspect came from New Zealand to get married when he allegedly hijacked the van which was transporting cash to a Company in Lami.
Police later raided his aunt’s house in 4 miles where the marriage was supposed to take place and confiscated cash and groceries.
He will appear in the court this morning.
