Police are yet to question a man who allegedly threatened students of a Primary school in Labasa not to use a road which leads to their school.

Labasa Police have confirmed receiving the report and say Officers will go to the school tomorrow to take the statements of the students and teachers.

The incident took place on Friday afternoon last week where it is alleged that a member of a mataqali near Nabekabu Primary school confronted about 20 students on Vunivaivai road and threatened them with a cane knife.

Students than had to make their way home through a bush path.

The President of the Nabekabu Crime Prevention Committee, Josefa Railogo said they are still waiting for Police intervention.

The same member of the mataqali is alleged to have held the shirt collar of the Assistant Head Teacher in the school on the same day and also threatened him not to use the road.

According to Railogo, the road belongs to the state and not to the mataqali.
