Police are questioning a 25-year-old man of Nadera for allegedly knifing a police officer from the Mobile Unit.
Media Liaison officer Atunaisa Sokomuri has confirmed the alleged incident took place in Laucala Beach when two officers from the Mobile Unit were patrolling yesterday afternoon.
They saw the man roaming around with a cane knife and when officers tried to question him, he attacked them.
He later struck one of the officers with the cane knife who sustained serious injuries on his hand.
Officers from the Mobile Unit later managed to arrest him.
He is expected to be charged later today.
