Former Fiji number 8 and current Vatukoula Coach, Inoke Male is one of the local coaches who has applied for the top job with the Flying Fijians.

Not new to the coaching scene, Males record speaks for itself in provincial games and also with the Fiji U-20 team to the Junior Rugby World cup where he guided the side to the 6th spot, the best ever by a national side.

Male also coached Tailevu when they wrestled the Farebrother Sullivan trophy from Nadroga in 2007 and in 2008 beat a star studded Stallions side which had all national reps in their lineup.

This season the former Navy player took Vatukoula to the major union after they beat Navosa in the promotion relegation.

It was only his second year in charge of the Gold Miners yet he guided them to the top level of competition in the country.

As a player he played under the coaching of Brad Johnstone in the 1999 RWC.

Males hope is for FRU to give him a chance to prove his worth For the Flying Fijians after a poor outing in the RWC this year.
